By creating an account or using Backyard, you agree to these terms.
Backyard generates AI-narrated walking tours based on your location, and lets you optionally publish tours you've taken for other users to discover and walk.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be able to legally form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Backyard, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Some narration modes offer a mature, unfiltered content setting; based on the date of birth provided at signup, this setting is only available to users 18 and older.
If you publish a tour as a public route, you're granting other Backyard users the ability to view and listen to it within the app. You can un-publish a tour at any time. Don't publish content that's illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights.
Narration is generated by AI (OpenAI) based on publicly available information about a location. While we aim for accuracy, narration may occasionally be incomplete or imprecise — treat it as entertainment and general-interest storytelling, not a verified historical or factual record.
Premium unlocks additional moods, narration voices, and usage limits. Subscriptions, once purchases are enabled, are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies.
Don't use Backyard to harass others, scrape or resell our content, attempt to bypass rate limits or paywalls, or interfere with the service's normal operation.
Backyard is provided "as is." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
